How Reiki works

Chakra's (the 7 symbols in the picture above) are our intake centres for the Universal Energy we have flowing through us. We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body and it also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.

If left for long in a dysfunctional state that part of the body will weaken and disease will occur. Reiki works through the chakras to balance the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. The energy knows where to go, and what to do once it gets there, or else is being directed by a higher intelligence. The energy manages its own flow to and within the recipient. It draws through the healer exactly that amount of energy which the recipient needs. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Reiki acts on a Aura Level , Physical Level and Emotional Level and is hence known as a Holistic System of Healing.

Durng a Reiki Healing, reiki energy is drawn into the crown chakra, flows to the third eye chakra, throat chakra and then down each arm streaming out through the palms. The practitioner places his or her hands upon the person to be healed with the intent for healing to occur, and then the energy begins flowing.

Reiki energy transcends time and space and can be sent or transmitted anywhere in the world, at any time. A practitioner will need to be attuned to Level II to use the symbol for distance healing. This symbol combined with other Reiki symbols faciliates an energy connection between you both. Distance healing work because on the spiritual level, we are all connected and divine law knows no time or space.

In other words, one does not have to work with a Reiki healer in person to experience profound healing.

The practitioner first sets the Intention for the session and whether it be specific or general, it is always in the “Highest Good” of the recipient. Then the healer opens the energetic channel between them and the recipient — recognizing the recipient and gaining permission to do the work. Once the channel is open, the practitioner sends Reiki energy to the recipient — again, acting as a medium between the recipient and the divine life energy. The energy is received immediately and may even be experienced through body sensations as a result (tingling, heat, vibration). The energy is working with or without physical sensations and quite often is noticed as a sense of well-being and relaxation.
